Part 2: Internal Rendered Brickwall Float with Sponge Finish
Continuing with the interior renovation of the townhouse in Erskineville, the images above depict the next phase of the project. Following the application of the skim coat of acrylic render to reinforce the old brickwork and provide a sturdy foundation, we proceeded to add two coats of acrylic base coat render. These coats not only serve to waterproof the walls but also contribute to achieving a smoother finish, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the interior space.
Building upon the base coats of render, we meticulously applied a skim coat over the acrylic render to further refine the surface. This additional layer helps to create a seamless and uniform appearance, preparing the internal brick walls for the final finishing touches. Utilising a combination of rendering techniques, including floating and sponge finishing, we achieved a super smooth texture on the rendered interior walls. With the groundwork laid and the walls expertly rendered, the space is now primed and ready for the application of paint, bringing the vision for the townhouse’s interior to life.
