Rendering Over Old Brick Work

The opening image is the final rendered layer dried, site cleaned and drop sheets removed. Set up as a slider with five photos, sharing the journey of this external wall rendering on the back of this semi in the suburb of Darlington NSW 2008, Inner west of Sydney.

We started the restoration process by giving an estimate and delicately removing the old rendering down to the masonry, ensuring a clean canvas for the new application. After preparing the surface, we applied two layers of Drizora water resistant cement base to establish a solid foundation and stop water penetration in the walls.

Next, we layered on two coats of acrylic render to achieve a smooth and long-lasting finish. To further fortify the rendering and protect it from the elements, we applied a layer of primer followed by two coats of membrane paint.

In total, this comprehensive project required seven coats, which we applied with expert care and precision to bring it to completion.
